'Warcraft' Moving Forward - Colin Farrel and Paula Patton Offered Lead Roles

Just recently, Colin Farrell and Paula Patton (from Mission: Impossible - Ghost protocol) have been offered big roles in the upcoming 'Warcraft' movie by Legendary Pictures and Atlas Entertainment.

It's not certain that Farrell is going to make a deal, but Patton is in talks for a leading role, and Duncan Jones, the movie director, is testing more actors for other major roles as we read on Deadline.

Warcraft finally begins filming in January, and since Legendary sealed a deal with Universal pictures, the movie is most likely going to be made there rather than at Warner Bros. Whole 'Warcraft' project has been postponed multiple times with its first release date announced for 2009, but now that the script is finished, it's finally getting back on the track.

  2. Unless he really needs the work, or really likes playing with swords and riding horses, I expect Farrell will pass. Alexander did not do well, remember.

    1. Well as I remember alexander didn't do well in the states but better did well internationally but then again themovie was bbasically exploring alexanders sexuality with the constant making out and sleeping with Jared leto (can't remember his character name), his close relationship with his mother which bordered incest and trying to prove he was straight by doing Rosario dawson with like 1 or 2 main battle scenes. Kinda see why it didn't do well in the states.

  3. well he defiantly has a Varian look, and i suppose if you dye her hair she could be Janna. I'm not against a warcraft movie as long as blizzard still has something to do with production so it doesn't bomb

  5. Chris Coppers would be a good cast for Pernie the Rouge - deep sunken bloodshot beady eyes, beak-like nose, etc.

  6. Well, from the sounds of things. It's supposed to pretty legit...
My only fear is that the actors and script will make scenes awekward. Let's hope that the entire screenplay will be as intense as the lore and games make it out to be.
Every cutscene warcraft has down was meant to place us in the moment. That truely is the magic of the games as well. So let's hope the movie plays on those strings and brings us to a magical setting of chaos and war with an elegant display of special effects and scores. Intensity is key to the fans, that and Accuracy.

  7. If a Warcraft movie is made, blizz should just make it with their CGI, all the trailers for wow expansions and stuff have looked amazing, and all the contracts and things with actors and w/e can/will mess something up.

  10. This has the potential for greatness, let's hope they don't throw it away in the pursuit of monetary value due to overwhelming greed... I love Blizzard, but I don't love Hollywood.

  11. Pretty much... Who is asking for this? Its just like that google movie, it would've been great in 2005.

Oh wait, no it wouldn't have. 99% of people who play this game speak naught of it.

    Get real, hollywood.
